Thai Purple Basil Seeds (Ocimum Basilicum)
- Purple Thai Basil is more stable under high or extended cooking temperatures than that of sweet basil. Thai basil has small, narrow leaves, purple stems, and pink-purple flowers.
- Purple basil is more resistant to fusarium wilt than Italian basil but may be somewhat stunted by it.
- Storing: If fresh, Thai Purple Basil can be kept loosely bagged in plastic in the refrigerator for about 5 days. Freezing is not a good option because most recipes use it as fresh whole leaves. Dried it's pretty much worthless.
