San MarzanoTomato Seeds (Lycopersicon Esceluntum)

RM 3.00

The San Marzano tomato is a pin variety, native to Italy. The fruits are known for their elongated shape with firm flesh and very few seeds. Fruits are especially suitable for direct consumption. The plant needs support for its growth. The fruits are up to 12 cm long and weigh up to 120 grams. At the time of ripening, the fruits are red.

San Marzano tomatoes are thinner and more pointed. The flesh is much thicker with fewer seeds, and the taste is stronger, sweeter and less acidic.

The San Marzano vines are indeterminate and have a somewhat longer season than other paste tomato varieties, making them particularly suitable for warmer climates. As is typical of heirloom plants, San Marzano is an open-pollinated variety that breeds true from generation to generation, making seed saving practical for the home gardener or farmer.
