Sweet William Dianthus (Dianthus Barbatus)

RM 3.00

Dianthus barbatus, the sweet William, is a species of flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae, native to southern Europe and parts of Asia. It has become a popular ornamental garden plant.

The sweet William is a traditional cottage garden perennial, coming in a range of flower colours and forms. It’s technically a short-lived perennial, but is usually grown as a biennial, with seeds sown in summer for flowering plants the following year.

‘Sweet William’ makes a fantastic cut flower, its strong stems and large flower heads lasting for several weeks in water.

‘Sweet’ is an extremely fragrant sweet William cultivar. Clusters of sweetly scented flowers in shades of red and for best results deadhead regularly to prolong flowering.
